The Common Council approved a $4.1 million bond resolution to fund a variety of capital projects at a special meeting held Thursday.
The projects specified in the resolution:
- $315,000 for the purchase and installation of air handling equipment for the public safety building
- $85,000 for the partial reconstruction of the roof of the public safety building.
- $25,000 for the replacement of a traffic signal light
- $25,000 for the purchase and installation of a water meter and backflow preventer
- $565,000 for the purchase of vehicles and equipment for construction and maintenance purposes
- $15,000 for the purchase of construction and maintenance equipment
- $780,000 for road maintenance
- $75,000 to re-pave the Amsterdam Free Library parking lot
- $525,000 for demolition of city-owned properties
- $55,000 for the partial reconstruction of roofs at city-owned watershed buildings
- $55,000 for the partial reconstruction of light poles on the Route 30 bridge
- $475,000 for replacement or reconstruction of equipment at the waste water treatment plant
- $140,000 for planning and design costs related to compliance with a waste water consent order from New York State Department of Environmental Conservation
- $80,000 for the purchase and installation of replacement screenings, compactor, and washer at the waste water treatment plant
- $65,000 for the removal of underground liquid fuel storage tanks as required by the NYSDEC
- $525,000 toward a $1.2 million project for the reconstruction of the Dove Creek retaining wall, with the expectation that the cost will be offset by grant money
- $35,000 for the partial reconstruction and improvement of various city golf course buildings
- $95,000 for construction and maintenance equipment for use at the city golf course
- $100,000 for the reconstruction and improvement of the parking lot at City Hall
- $25,000 for improvements such as plumbing, electrical work, heating, cooling, and ventilation
- $45,000 for improvements or embellishments to recreational facilities such as the city pool and docks
