2017 Empire State Prospect Games continue this weekend

Some of the best high school baseball players from across New York State can be seen at the 2017 Empire State Prospect Games this weekend. A series of games will be held at Shuttleworth Park in Amsterdam, NY, and on the campus of Fulton-Montgomery Community College in Johnstown, NY.

The games are divided into two divisions: the Class of 2018 featuring players who will be high school seniors when the school season starts in September, and the Underclassmen for players in the Classes of 2019- 2021.

There will be some Amsterdam athletes participating in the games including Jeffrey Brennan (Class of 2019) who will play for the Capital District Region Underclass Team, and Michael Rocas (2020), Nicholas Carbone (2020), Trey Ausfeld (2019), and Peyton Ausfeld (2020), who will play for the Western Region Underclass Team.

The Class of 2018 division consists of the Capital District Region, Central Region, Hudson Valley Region, and NY City Region. The Underclass division consists of six teams including; the Adirondack Region, Capital District Region, Central Region, Hudson Valley Region, NY City Region, and Western Region teams.

Six games were held on Friday night along with a Class of 2018 Showcase and Recruiting Seminar. Six more games are scheduled for Saturday along with a Underclass Showcase and Recruiting Seminar. Sunday features medal round games at both sites beginning at 9am, and concluding with a 3pm game at Shuttleworth Park.

9am – NY City 2018 vs. Capital District 2018
12pm – NY City 2018 vs. Hudson Valley 2018
3pm – Central 2018 vs. Hudson Valley 2018
6pm – Underclass Showcase and Recruiting Seminar

At FMCC:
9am – Adirondack Underclass vs. Western Underclass
12pm – Adirondack Underclass vs. Central Underclass
3pm – NY City Underclass vs. Capital District Underclass
