According to the Montgomery County Board of Elections, Rodney Wojnar, incumbent candidate for Fourth Ward Alderman, will not appear on the Democratic party line in this November’s election. An objection to Wojnar’s petition was filed by city resident Jim Pabis who claimed that the petition did not contain the required number of valid signatures. The board of elections sustained the objection in a decision made today.
Another objection was filed by Jim Glorioso, Democratic candidate for Second Ward Alderman, against Valerie Beekman, a Democratic candidate for the same ward, also claiming that the petition did not contain the required number of valid signatures. The board decided today that the objection was not properly filed and that Beekman’s petition is valid. Glorioso and Beekman will therefore face each other in a primary election on September 12, 2017.
** Update: Jim Glorioso announced he will not actively seek the position of Second Ward Alderman
