Lady Rams hold 16th annual basketball clinic

The Amsterdam High School Lady Rams basketball program completed its 16th annual basketball clinic Sunday at Amsterdam High School. More than 50 girls in grades 2-8 participated in the two day clinic held the past two Sunday’s at AHS with coaches and players of the Amsterdam Lady Rams varsity, junior varsity and modified teams serving as instructors. Participants learned the fundamentals of the game of basketball, working on drills which included passing, shooting, rebounding, and defense. At the end of each session the girls were divided up into teams based on their age groups and played games to help teach them teamwork skills. Students were recognized by the coaches for outstanding achievement at each of the seven stations of skill development, and all students received a certificate recognizing their participation in the clinic.
