Dozens of supporters of the proposed casino development near exit 27 of the NY State Thruway held a spirited rally yesterday afternoon on Church St. in Amsterdam. The group had planned to demonstrate last week on Tuesday, but cancelled due to high temperatures. A group demonstrating against the development that same day went ahead with their rally. Both groups came out this past Tuesday, but both rallies got cut short due to rain. The casino supporters, occasionally stepping into the driving lanes, encouraged drivers to honk their horns in support.
