Coming up this Saturday

Here’s at least four events happening in the area this Saturday:

There will be a Farmer’s Market every Saturday starting this weekend and continuing to October 4th at 100 Church St., Amsterdam from 10:00am to 2:00pm. Local produce, meats, cheese, honey, baked goods, flowers, art, crafted goods and more will be available.

James Glorioso Jr., candidate for Montgomery County Sheriff, will be holding a “Unity with Community” event at Veteran’s Field in Amsterdam from 11:00am to 4:00pm. The event is to kickoff his campaign and will include a dessert bar, bouncy house, “military maze”, live DJ and more. Visit the event’s Facebook page for more information.

Johnson Hall will hold the first in a series of lectures at the Johnstown High School Lecture Room, located off Pearl Street at 11:00am. A lecture titled Sir William Johnson’s Death Diplomacy will be presented by Erik R. Seeman, Professor of History and Director of the Humanities Institute at SUNY Buffalo. Refreshments will be served after the lecture and tours of Johnson Hall will be available after 1:00pm.

Tropic Rhythm will be performing at Riverlink Park, Amsterdam  7:00pm. Admission is free. Check out the band’s web site at tropicrhythm.com.
