Schoharie Crossing events, open auditions for radio play

Path Through History Weekends

The Schoharie Crossing State Historic Site at 129 Schoharie Street in Fort Hunter, NY will be part of a statewide Path Through History Weekends event, coming up June 7th-8th and June 14th – 15th.  At Schoharie Crossing visitors can see all three phases of the Erie Canal, the remains of the 1842 aqueduct, and walk the grounds where Fort Hunter once stood. The Trails to Canals temporary exhibit will feature information on the development of the Mohawk Valley from its geological origins, to Native Inhabitants use of trails and waterways that lead to Euro-American turnpike roads and canal systems. Visitors can view this and other exhibits, walk the original towpaths or participate in a guided tour, and enjoy a picnic at either the boat launch or Yankee Hill Lock locations. Open Audition for Any Good Thing

Any Good Thing is a half hour, serial, radio play currently airing on WOPG 98.9 FM & 1460 AM. It is essentially a love story, with Derek and Charity as main characters, who meet on a bench in the heart of Amsterdam, NY and try their hardest to fall in love. The production is looking for actors and actresses age 18 and up for a variety of new roles, to be added to an existing ensemble cast. Experience is preferred.

Auditions will be held Tuesday, June 10th, 2014 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Creative Connections Arts Center, 303 East Main St. Amsterdam, NY 12010. Those auditioning will be given lines from the play to read. For more information about our production check out our Facebook Page.
