There will be a presentation on Tuesday, June 17 at the Lynch Middle School at 7pm by Clairvest Group Inc., a developer competing for a NY state license to open a casino in the Amsterdam area. The Common Council has rescheduled their meetings to Wednesday. There will be a Committee of the Whole meeting at 6:00pm, a Personnel Committee meeting at 6:30pm, followed by a Common Council meeting at 7:00pm at City Hall. Previously, the casino presentation was scheduled to be held at Amsterdam High School. According to a release from City Hall, the location was changed so that a resolution in support of the location of the casino could be voted on, with the city charter dictating that all official common council meetings be held within city limits.
