The Amsterdam Free Library‘s Amsterdam Reads (Amsterdam’s Community Read program) will host Judith Redfield Coopey, the author of the program’s featured book of the year Redfield Farm.
The author will portray Ann Redfield, the main character in the book. A discussion and questions will follow. The event will be held at the Century Club, 130 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam, NY on Sunday March 23 at 2 pm . The event is free and refreshments will be served.
The Walter Elwood Museum will hold three educational camp days on April 14th, 15th and 16th for children ages 4 and up. Each day will have two different sessions to choose from. Topics include “Garbage Art”, “Celebrate Springtime at the Mill”, and “Animal Art & Drawing” as well as explorations of the occupations of an ecologist, an orinthologist, and a mammalogist. Each session costs between $10-$20. Scholarships are available through the Dr. Rao Charitable Foundation upon request.
